medication for chronic pain felon
my son, recently convicted in virginia,has been placed on 2 yr probation. he has chronic back pain from auto accident and terms of probation is to be clean of any and all narcotics. what can we do to continue his medication?

The doctor who is treating your son for this chronic
back pain should write a letter to you son's probation officer describing your son's condition
and his need for whatever prescribed narcotic medicines are necessary to alleviate his chronic
back pain. Your son's attorney should then contact the probation officer to see what action needs to be undertaken, including a possible modification of the court's sentencing order to allow your son to use these prescribed pain relieving medicines without violating the terms of his probation.
