Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
A month or so ago, while in court, the judge said to the defendant that he was not to have any contact with me. In his words "You are not to contact her. If she wants to speak to you, SHE will call YOU. Otherwise, no contact. No mail, no calls, no texts, nothing. And that is an order of the court." This person recently contacted me, via the newtorking site MySpace. He says that I would be wasting my time by calling the cops because what the judge said was not written and he never received a document of it. Is it true that he really can speak to me? Is it true that the court order is not actually there because it was never written. I'm extremely confused and stressed over the situation, especially considering how rude and threatening he was. Thanks in advance!

The defendant's contacting you is definitely a violation of the order. Call the magistrate and complain. Print out his statements and show the magistrate.
