Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Hi in october.15.2009 i recently just brought a car i never had a car before first car. And nobody knew i had a car where i stayed at. So a week and a half from the day i brought my car i was at work and when i got off work i went home. My friend had called me and told me that he wanted me to take him to a birthday party at a hotel, So i really didnt feel like taking him because it was wet on the road because it had been drizzling earlier that day, So i told him ok i will take him, so we went to the party and when we got there the girl whos party it was told us that it had been shut down because you can only hold a certain amount at a hotel party so we left. On the way back home i say about a 10 miles down the road we were at a red signal light and we were next to a vehicle i didnt know who they were. And they was laughing and do other things so i asked my friend wat they laughing at so the light had turned green and they throw a bottle at my car and i really didnt think to much of it because people litter all the time and i was thinkin they threw it out and it hit my car by an accident so then they threw another bottle. Then thats when i realize they are being childish so we pasted another light and we turned on another street, So i speed up to get there license plate number and thats when they threw a glass acohol bottle and broke my whole window out. so i immediately called the police and they came out so i told them what had happened and they gave me a police report number. But here it is January.27.2010 and nobody has done anythinh about this what am i suppose to do?

Forget about the cops; if you have the license plate number of these miscreants, you should be able to obtain their residence address in order to sue them in small claims court for your damages.
