Re: what options

There are various ways to handle this matter - and more options if your charge is a misdemeanor.

If you are charged with a felony, you will have to appear for arraignment. If not, a warrant will be issued for your arrest.

If a misdemeanor, it is possible to resolve the case without returning to Washington. An attorney can enter a plea of not guilty for you and then attempt to resolve the case without the necessity of you returning to court. Note that I say it is possible, not certain. Whether it can be done depends on a multitude of factors - the strength of the state's case, the consent of the prosecutor and/or judge.

Step one: retain a lawyer who practices in that court often.
