Pardoned for a Felony

How do i get a 30 year old felony taken off my record? I was 17 when charged,am 48 now and have had a clean record since.

I would like to be involved in helping my community and be able to apply for various job opportunities.

Please advise.

Thank you for consideration.

Re: Pardoned for a Felony

Key facts are missing from your question. You say

you were charged , apparently, in Virginia, as a

minor(17), and, therefore, would have been prosecuted as a juvenile and your record should've remained sealed and would cause you no problems as an adult. And there would be no need for concern as to how to remove the 30 year old felony from your record.

However, if in fact you were prosecuted and convicted of the felony in Virginia as an adult, you can forget about having the record expunged

because that is simply not going to happen in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

You can make application to the governor for a pardon, but even that is not going to clear your record.
