Unfortunately, VA does not allow for innocent violations. The statute has a mandatory jail sentence of at least one day. If you believe you may have violated a no contact/protective order, you need to contact us immediately for assistance. A good lawyer can often have the charge modified, or seek "accord and satisfaction."
