Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
If a person goes to court and is found guilty and sentenced to 30 days and appeals it can the accuser go to the commonwealth to have the charges dropped before the next court date?

The accuser can always make such a request during the pendency of the case,
but the final decision lies with the Commonwealth as to whether such an action
will be taken or not in the matter.
