Per Va. Code Sec. 54.1-3007 4., the Board of Nursing which issues all state
licenses for certified massage therapists, the Board may refuse to
issue such a license to anyone convicted of a felony or misdemeanor involving
a crime of moral turpitude, i.e., lying, cheating, or stealing.
You may wish to personally contact the Board of Nursing in Richmond to determine whether the facts involved in your particular felony conviction would actually constitute a crime of moral turpitude as referenced in the cited statute.
