Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
petty larceny
Can a petty larceny be expunged? It was papers from an old abandoned house, they were returned, I thought I could plead guilty w/explanation. The commonwealth attorney told me it wouldn't affect my future but now I can't even get a job at Target!!!

Re: petty larceny
Va. Code Sec. 19.2-392.2(C) does appear to allow for the possible expungement of misdemeanor convictions for first time offenders(provided that the Commonwealth doesn't have "just cause" to object).
