Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

police interference

There was a incident that a drunken called police on some young boys in his neighborhood, and said that the boys were cursing at him and threatening him. The police officer gave him four names and drove him around and helped pick these boys out. Later her pulled a gun out on two boys. One of the boys later attacked him for pulling this gun on him. This same police went and filed charges on the same four boys. Only one of the prior boys participated in the fight. This man went to court and admitted that he did not really know the boys but the police had given these boys name and rode him around the neighborhood and pointed these boys out. She filed charges on those boys and said in her report that the identified the boys. Is that police coersion?

Re: police interference

Police coercion? No, I don't think so, but it could be an issue of police misidentification which could be used in the defense of the boy who allegedly has been improperly accused.
