Quite significant. Normally by the time of the preliminary hearing in such a case, the Commonwealth will be expected to produce reliable test results from the Virginia Department of Forensic Science in Richmond that the contraband drug with which the defendant has been charged with possessing
with the intent to distribute is in fact what they claim it to be.
