Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

First possession of marijuana charge as an adult.

I was recently charged with possession of marijuana. I havnt been to court as an adult and i was wondering what could happen. I was told that ill probalbly get probation. If thats the case then is it possible to request a short jail time instead? Id rather spend a week or 2 in jail that have 6 months probation.

Obviously, you haven't spent any time in any jail or other lockup for even a day which would likely be enough to change your thinking on the particular sentencing option which you've mentioned.

Better get a lawyer (if you don't already have one) who can provide you with what clearly is much needed advice on your part, not only with respect to possible sentencing but with many other matters relating to this charge and its disposition.
