Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Possession of Marijuana

I just wanted to know if i have a strong case or not. I have my preliminary hearing tomrrow. I am going to ask for a court appointed lawyer. The officers also failed to read my miranda rights to me. I was lighting something but it was an extremely windy day and my hands were completely covering what i was lighting. The officers approached us from behind at which point i put my hands in my lap. They told me to drop whatever aws holding ani complied. There was an unlit cigarette in plainright wview here i was sitting, but the police continued to look in th grass and found a small marijuana cigar. I got charged with possesson and i just wanted to know how strong my case was. Thank you for all your help.

Re: Possession of Marijuana

Sounds like at least two police officers' respective stories against one defendant's, which could make for quite a strong case for the prosecution.

But, of course, you'll have ample opportuntiy to ask your court-appointed counsel what he or she thinks about it.
