Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
have prior convictions of credit card theft served 4mths on one charge and probation for the first now being charged with check forgery and uttering. where do i stand

There are sentencing guidelines when certain probation violations occur. But when one catches new charge(s) and is convicted....the Judge will have more discretion and sentence you as he/she feels just and fair. The forgery and uttering are both felonies. They are more serious than misdemeanors. Hire a good attorney. That is my advise. A good attorney may very likely have a positive effect on the outcome of the case.
