Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Probation revoked
Local convicted sex offender was sentenced to 5 years.Sentence was 5 years probation w/ three being supervised, by plea agreement.
Has since been convicted on 2 counts of failure to register as a sex offender, which were probation violations. Court website records show Sentence/Revoked. Why is this man not in carcerated? Sex offender registry shows a new home address since his conviction of probation violations. I'm puzzled.

Re: Probation revoked
Why don't you stop by the clerk's office at the courthouse and asked to review the court's case file on the matter. Once you've reviewed the file, you should have your answer to the question you've posed here on the BBS, but, if not, you could then write the judge who's assigned to the case for further clarification(s).
