Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

profiling

I was stopped in Fairfax County. This officer rode half way back, along side my truck in the fast lane for about a good 10-15 minutes before pulling behind me and pointing me to pull over. Supposely for speeding, expired registration, and a neckless hanging from my rear view mirror. I wasn't speeding,my registration wasn't expired, my neckless was not blocking my view. For a traffic stop, I was also asked to get out of the my suv. The county officer asked rountine questions like where I was going and so on. Then asked me many times if I had guns in suv. I said no, finally I told him search it, I have nothing to hide. Once he ran my DL and checked for warrents, came back told me I he wasn't going to give any tickets, and was free and clear to go. I started putting away my registration, insurance, dl cards, and put on my seat belt, the 2nd officer was questioning to my nephew for his name and birthdate and told us to wait. We waited about 20 minutes, when I looked back there where 5 officers and a dog walking to us. And yes they search the suv.

Re: profiling

So, your question is what? Should you have given your consent to the cops to search your vehicle?

Of course not, that clearly was a mistake on your part.

Re: profiling

I don't practice in VA, but I agree with the other attorney. First what is your question? Second, its hard to complain when you consented.
