Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Protective Order
I have aprotective order against me. I was charged with violating this order last year in 10/08. My ex husband is a police officer. So this whole thing is crazy. He was the one contacting me but I still got in trouble. My question is since Im was charged of violating this order I guess there is no way I can get this dropped sooner. I'm trying to get an government job to help support me and my child better. Is there anyway you think i can ask for this to be dropped. What if my ex-husband agrees to drop it will they since there was a violation?

Re: Protective Order
If you were convicted of violating the civil protection order, the conviction will remain on your record as a civil rather than criminal matter,
and there would be nothing to be "dropped" since the matter apparently has already been adjudicated.
