Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

protective order

My ex has a protective order against me, and I was arrested one previously when communicating with in regards to my son through 3rd party. The protective order has been amended to where we can meet and exchange my son, but all communication is done thorugh email only. My ex continsusly trys to starts coversations with me and I say nothing but tonight in front of my son he kept pushing for me to talk and saying how I was allowed to speak to him. Is there anything I can do, it seems there is something he is always trying to get me to break the protective order, and saying it is allowed when it clearly is not. What can I do to protect myself since I will be the one getting arrested not him. Is there anything I can do for him to make him see he needs to follow the rules too?

Re: protective order

You could buy one these digital recorders and start recording these provocative conversations (and in Virginia you don't need his permission).

Later, with the advice of your attorney, a decision could be made(if necesaary) as to how these recordings might be used. (Any which he voluntarily

agrees to should be admissible as evidence in court.)
