Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
public intoxication
hello how are you today? I was arrested for public intoxication.... I was not intoxicated the officers did not give me any field test or test my bac at all.... I am considering getting a lawer and going to court so that this charge does not go onto my record... Do you think that since there is no proof of me being intoxicated nor was I a hazard to anyone or myself is are my chances good at getting this charge dropped?

Perhaps, but if you wish to maximize your chances of this happening, you'll want to obtain the services of competent defense counsel knowledgeable regarding Virginia "DIP"(Drunk In Public) charges,and, preferably, with experience with respect to this issue in the jurisdiction in which your arrest occurred.
