public nuisance
I was charged with a maintaining a public nuisance for throwing a party. what is the punishment and is there a statue of limitations for this charge?

It's not clear from your question whether you were cited for a criminal or civil violation. Maintaining a common nuisance under Va. Criminal Code Sec. 18.2-258 is classfied as a Class 1 misdemeanor offense with a statute of limitations of one year from the date of the offense.
