Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Pursuant to Rule 803 (0), is a "party-opponent" ANY of the opposing council's witnesses? I am confused about who this term applies to.
Thanks,
Greg

No, the term party opponent normally refers to either the plaintiff or defendant in a case which has been properly filed and is pending in a court of proper jurisdiction. It has nothing to do with witnesses who may be called for either the plaintiff or the defendant in such cases.
