More questions on Obstruction of Justice

My brother was stopped for traffic violation and he does not has a driver license. He gave the police officer my name, SS# and birthday and signed the ciation without my knowledge. I found out about it the following week and contacted officer who made the stop and told her that it was my brother who gave her my information but I do not wish to press charge against him I just want the ticket clear of my name. The officer told me I've to cooperate with her or I'll be charge with obstruction. Is the officer correct that I could be charge with obstruction if I'm not pressing charge againts my brother?

The Officer requested that I come to Police Station and show her my ID to prove that I am who I said I was. Do I have to cooperate with her requested or could I wait untill court date for the traffic ciation to show her in front of the judge. I just don't want my brother to get in trouble. What your advice I should do? What would happen to my brother? What would he or could he be charge without my cooperation?

Re: More questions on Obstruction of Justice

Better coopertate with the officer whether you want to or not, especially since you're also necessarily involved in this particular incident whether you want to be or not. (Whether charges are brought against your brother will be up to the local prosecutor's office and not you.)
