I was wondering if a women could be charged with rape? Since the prime evidence of finding someone guilty of rape if penetration. If so, how would that hold up in court and how would you prove it? And has a women ever been charged with rape in the united states?

Black's Law Dictionary defines rape as the "unlawful sexual intercourse with a female without her consent". This is the common law definition; statutory versions may include a
consenting female victim who is underage.
Normally, women who engage in illegal or unlawful intercourse with male victims are not charged with
the crime of rape but, rather, some statutory version of sexual assault or related crime.
