Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Recent court decisions on search and seizure
Recently the Supreme Court ruled that a police officer can not search someone's vehicle just because that person is under arrest with some exceptions. Is there any recourse for someone who may have been charged with a crime due to such a search that is not covered by an exception? Will the person's record be expunged, or will nothing happen at all?

More relevant facts (and background information regarding the accused) are required in order to answer this question(in my opinion).
