Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
I was just recently arrested on misdemeanor possession of marijuana in Virginia, it was a little over 1 gram and i was released on a summons. i was wondering what the chances are that if i plea bargain with the prosecution that i could get this charge wiped from my record due to the fact I am pursuing my career as a fiefighter/paramedic ad i dont want it to hurt my chances

Assuming that the charge is under Va. Code Sec. 18.2-251(or the prosecutor
is willing to amend it to that), then it's possible that as a first time offender
you could be placed upon probation which, if you complete successfully, you
could then have the charge dismissed without formal adjudication of
guilt (and therefore no record of conviction).
