Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

records correction issue that never end

About 11-12 years ago I had a felony reduced to a class-4 misdemeanor in Virginia Beach's Criminal Court. Background checks revealed that the final disposition had never been entered into records. An attorney was hired, who submited a request to correct the records and finally have the final disposition entered several years ago. This is still showing up on background checks as unresolved. I live out of state now and can't afford an attorney. Can you please help?

Re: records correction issue that never end

It would seem that your most logical approach would be to start with this Virginia attorney whom you hired to effect a change of your record of conviction with the Commonwealth's Central Criminal Records Exchange in Richmond to determine why the change

in the record of final disposition of your case apparently never went through and as a result you have not received as of yet what you paid for.

This attorney needs to follow-up and find out what has gone wrong with his or her attempt to set your record right(and should not be charging you any further fees for this effort).
