Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Reinstating my rights
Few years back, I pleaded guilty to a domestic violence charge in Virginia. I ended with a year probation and completed 6 months of anger management classes. I now live in Illinois and would like to buy a hunting rifle, can I restore my gun right?

Re: Reinstating my rights
If the record of the Virginia conviction can be expunged, you can probably qualify under U.S.C. 18.2-922(a)to purchase such a rifle as long as Illinois state law does not prohibit it.
