Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Richmond, VA: A private tutor (male) goes into a house to meet with a student. Tutor doesn't know that the mother is a prostitute and house is under surveillance. There is no child present. Mother trys to solicit sex from tutor. Tutor refuses and leaves within 10 minutes, and is later detained by vice police. Tells vice the truth, but they don't believe him. Tutor threatened by police of being further detained, arrested, wife notified, and business ruined with the publication of arrest pictures. Police tell tutor that they won't arrest him, but want his statement for testimony to enhance their case against the known prostitute and drug dealer. Tutor lies to police and falsely says he had sex with the woman and gave her $100. What can the tutor expect to happen next?
