rights of those investigated

I was working in an office where all employees had access to personal info of residents. I also had to sign for packages for residents as part of my duties. Someone used a former residents check acct info and bought medicine, had it delivered to the office and b/c I signed for the package the investigator says he thinks I did it or was a liason. He also asked me to take a polygraph, I said I don't knwo I don't think I have to, do I? He immediately said why wouldn't you, if you didn't do anything? I have moved from the area since then, but can he still bug me and call me or email me about this?

The investigator assigned to the case is certainly free to continue his work on the matter but if you've moved from the area, are no longer employed by the company, and you've already informed him that you decline the polygraph and

that you have no further information to offer on the matter, then there would probably be no further reason for him to contact you in your new location---and I would not expect that he will.
