Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
During a roberry case where there are potential witnesses but no other substanial evidence what does it mean when the case is protracted?

It probably means that the case may be drawn out longer than it otherwise
might be if there were other evidence available such as forensic which might be
able to corroborate the accounts of one or more of the various eye witnesses and facilitate the resolution of any conflicts between their respective statements.
