Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Hello,

I am currently a section 8 participant, unfortunatly there was situation in my home that caused me to have a possesision charge. classified as a misdeamonor 1. But I do not smoke marijuana. Also it wasnt mine. I have a very good job which alot of my time is given too. I have went to court and pleaded no contest. I am in the process of moving because my lease ends at the end of this month. I meet with my lawyer this week. My question is will I lose my section 8? Even tho it is a misdeamonor and not a felony is the potential to lose my assistance still there. Also the person who's it was. Will be willing to take the charge. Is that a option? my court date is july 8.
