Re: sentence
Class 3 felonies in the Commonwealth
are punishable by imprisonment in the state penitentiary for a term of not less than five years nor more than 20 and a fine not to exceed $100,000.
(See Section 18.2-10 of the Virginia Criminal Code.)
If you are a first time offender with no prior record and other mitigating circumstances which may apply, your attorney may succeed in persuading the court that much(if not all)of your jail sentence should be suspended.
Re: sentence
Felony convictions will keep you from getting work, forever. You need to fight the charges if you can, and if you didn't do the crime, don't plead guilty no matter what.
