Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Serving time in federal prison and probation violation in VA
My son is serving time in fed prison and attending RDAP. In 2002, he received 4 yrs suspended sentence and 10 yrs probation for violating an offense in 1997. Is he looking at a 10 yrs sentence when he returns to VA? I want to hire a lawyer for him but do not know how to find a good lawyer. The lawyer who work on his case previously was very judgemental when I consulted her. I'd really appreciate any advice.

Four years suspended and 10 years of probation would not appear to add up to a 10 year sentence.
