if i was to shop lift and then return the iteams for an instore credit can i be charged with shoplifting even if i was not caught shoplifting by an employee or on camera can i still be charged after the fact

Sure, if there's probable cause to believe that you shoplifted the original items
that you later returned for an in-store credit.
