Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
shoplifting
i was caught shoplifting at spencers it was a 3.99 ashtray they gave me a paper saying they might prosecute and they said i couldnt come back in the store ...will they take this to court and if so what are the consequences?

Probably not(for a $3.99 ashtray), but you had best stay away from that store, and keep your fingers crossed as to your possible prosecution. (And, perhaps, it's time for you to consider some counseling for whatever urges you may have to shoplift.)
