Shoplifting laws
Is it possible for retail stores to get a warrant issused to a shoplifter? If yes, how common is this?

Felony arrest warrants are fequently issued aginst shoplifters in the Commonwealth in situations where the value of the goods shoplifted equals or exceeds $200, and, therefore, qualifies as a grand larceny under Va. Code statute 18.2-95.
If the amounts shoplifted are less than $200 in value, the miscreant shopper may be given a summons to appear in court to answer to the charge of petit larceny.
