Re: shopliftting, value of items $160
A first time offender representerd by a competent attorney and who is charged with a shop lifting petty larceny offense(less than $200)in the Commonwealth, should be able to get a so-called SIS(Suspended Imposition of Sentence) with payment of court costs and, perhaps, some required community service, and, of course, the suspension of any possible jail time and fines.
If the defendant gets this deal and has no rearrests or other violations of the conditions of his or her probation, the court will review the matter after the elapse of one year and then close it out with no record of any conviction for that particular offense on the part of the defendant.

You should get an attorney. The attorney could probably get you a deferred disposition.
