Re: Shplifting

If the preliminary hearing is not scheduled on this felony theft charge

until after your friend's scheduled vacation trip, there should be no problem as long as she complies with whatever her pretrial release conditions require.

Re: Shplifting

Your friend needs to check the specific conditions of her bond. She may violate the conditions of her bond if she leaves the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is unlikely that she will be permitted to go to Mexico, while she has an active felony case pending. She could request the court modify the conditions of her bond to permit her to take this vacation. If a judge is willing to allow her to do this, then she might be able to make the trip. This correspondence contains privileged attorney-client information and is the property of The Law Office of Michael J.
