Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

My son collects scrap metal for extra money while working another job. Recently he went to a salvage yard to turn in scrap metals . He responds to Craigslist adds for people who need pick u ps and such. A detective came to our house stating that some copper my son sold was found to be stolen and he wanted to speak to my son. He said he can charge him with 4 felonies alothough he won't say what they would be. My son UNKNOWINGLY did this from random scrap. SO we aren't sure what to do now. I was told by the detective that he could be in a lot of trouble :" depending on what he has to say when he speaks to him :" We aren't sure what to do, because we are freightened he will be arrested. What can we do?

Get the boy an experienced criminal defense counsel to represent him in the

situation described who can advise him (and you) as to the likely best course

for him to follow at this stage of matters which also will most likely involve

your son's NOT SPEAKING TO THE COPS---until the lawyer can review and

advise him on the matter and be at his side for any interview that might eventually take place with any law enforcement personnel.
