Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
In the state of Virginia... I paid a partial payment on my retainer fee for my lawyer he agreed to accept that and the rest at a later date. If I fail to pay him in full by the tme agreed to can he drop me as a client ??

If he entered his appearance in your case, heat need court permission to withdraw, but the court can (and should) allow him to withdraw if you decide not to pay your bills.

Yes. He would have to file a motion to withdraw to get court permission, but it will be granted. If you breach your contract to pay him that gives rise to a potential civil case against you, which creates a conflict of interest.
Besides, why would you expect anyone to work for free?
