Statute of limitations for bounced check in state of Virginia.
What is the statute of limitations on filing a criminal complaint for a bounced check in the state of Virginia? How about for a forged check?

If the amount of the bounced check is less than $200, it's a misdemeanor offense, prosecutable within one year from the date of the alleged "bounce".(Up to $2500 fine and/or one year in jail.)
If the amount is $200 or more, it's a felony.(Possible penitentiary sentence.) Same for forging a check(Class 5 felony), i.e., or uttering, as it's known in legal lingo.
The Commonwealth, surprisingly, has no statutes of limitations on felonies.
