Is this stealing?

Hi, i am wondering if you purchase a Car as a coe signer and you are married to the othr person, but you seperate for a year and they take the van and go to an endisclosed place, leaving you with the bills because they can't be found is that stealing or breaking any kind of law? the company keeps money out of your check for the rpoperty that you do not have and threaten to arrest you for their properrty that you do not have.How can we go about this situation legally? Please answer thank you. That is all.

The co-signer of a loan-whether for a vehicle or whatever-and irrespective of whether the co-signer is married or not to the other co-signer-is legally responsible for the entire loan if

the other person absconds or does not pay.

In your case the vehicle was jointly owned by you

and your wife, and either you or she could legally remove it to wherever either one of you wanted to without violating the law,(which, apparently, she has done).

The company that you borrowed the money from can legally garnish your salary until the entire balance is paid; they cannot, however, have you arrested for merely owing them money.
