Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Switching 30 days in jail to community service
I was sentenced to 30 days in jail to be served on weekends.I have a job interview tomorrow that is a career type job that would require me to work some weekends. I am also a single parent. If i get this job, is there any way to do community service or some other alternatave instead.I am supposed to begin my weekends Dec. 8.

Yes you can go back and ask the Judge but the liklihood is that the Judge will give you the option of the plan you chose or the option of doing the time straight up before your new job begins. Not a pretty picture.

Only the judge on your case can say. Therefore, you had better ask her or him.
