Re: throwing missiles from moving vehicle

The criminal statute allegedly violated is Section 18.2-154 of the Virginia Criminal Code: Shooting, throwings missles at a train, vehicle, etc. There was a similar case involving a woman in Stafford County this past year who supposedly threw a MacDonald's drink at a moving vehicle. She was convicted after trial by a jury and given a sentence of two years which the judge reduced to around 60 days which she served most of in the Stafford jail.

This crime is obviously taken seriously

in the Commonwealth and if the alleged victim involved is a law enforcement officer, I would not be surprised if you had to serve somewhere around 90 to 120 days(if convicted) in addition to paying a quite substantial fine. And on top of that you would emerge from this unhappy affair with a felony conviction on your record(meaning, perhaps, that you would need to start looking for self-employment enterprises because no one will want to hire you.)
