Traffic Stops

i would like to know what reasons can and can't a police officer pull you over. I was recently pulled and charged with driving on suspended third offense and was told i was pulled over because i looked suspicious, i am white and had black passengers, nobody will help we, what is the law in VA on this type of situation

The officer must have what's called probable cause

or at least a reasonable suspicion that the operator of the vehicle has violated the law in

order to make the stop.

In your case, whatever made the officer initially

suspicious of you is, really, irrelevant, once he ran your tags and checked your license status, and

was informed that your license had been suspended,

the officer then had the necessary "legal" reason to pull you over.

You can rest assured that you were not stopped merely because you looked suspicious, whatever that may mean.
