Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

I was traveling in VA with a coworker who was arrested for DUI the night before we left town. Her bailbond guy called me, and I called my employer. I was told to "get her out". So I paid the bond and co-signed, not knowing what that was, as I am not familiar with the criminal realm, and it wasn't explained. I then got on a plane and returned to my home state of FL. As I was flying, my company decided they did not want to be involved. I was instructed to cancel the bond. However, I signed a document (that did not have any particular terms or conditions listed), and am not sure if I can cancel. Can I cancel this co-sign? Can I call my credit card company and reverse the charge? All information available on line is that presented by bailbonds companies, which of course is not going to explain cosigners rights. Please help.

The short answer is that if the bailbond has already been provided and

your co-worker released from the local hoosegow, as the co-signer your responsible for paying the bond if she doesn't appear for her scheduled hearing(s)---and, no, the bailbond company is not going to allow you to cancel

for what should be obvious reasons.
