Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia

Trial is tomorrow-need help

I live in VB. I wrote a check to a chinese rest. and received a call that it was returned 9/07. I had agreed to pay it and planned on taking care of it that evening after work. Instead, I had to go to the hospital and was dx w/bronchitis. Long story short, I forgot about the check and received a call from VBPD re: a warrant. Went to meet with officer and a court date was set. Paid the ck and fee next day and was told charges dropped,no need to go to court. VBPD called again-failure to appear. Ck for $20-no intent to commit crime. No criminal history. Never received written notification re: check. Have ADHD-inattentive type-now on medication/therapy. Also have anxiety and panic attacks. Very scared, don't know what to do, trial is tomorrow. Going into the jail 2x for this one check that has already been paid has really stressed me out. Will I be sentenced to jail? Went to civil bond show cause and was told that as long as the criminal case dismissed, civil case will also be. Judge said it should be, but he couldn't make any promises.

Re: Trial is tomorrow-need help

No, if the criminal charge has already been dismissed, you will not be going to jail tomorrow (or any other time) as a result of any disposition in the civil matter.

One might wonder, however, as to why you waited so long to seek counsel regarding this pending civil matter

as there could be matters/issues connected with it which need to be addressed before the scheduled trial date.
