Capias refers to the somewhat quaint(if not antiquated) term for arrest warrant deriving from Latin as used in the English common law which has been favored over the years by Virginia criminal jurisprudence to this very day whenever
such warrant is required in Commonwealth criminal proceedings. The term itself,
i.e., capias, actually translates into something like "seize the body".
The term "capias executed' simply means that the subject person named
in the capias or arrest warrant has in fact been arrested.
