Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
underage consumption of alcohol
I am 20 and was recently given a citation for underage consumption of alcohol. When given a breathilizer I blew a .03. What kind of punishment can I expect? And a friend suggested pleading guilty under a stet document. What does that entail?

Re: underage consumption of alcohol
Title 4.1-305 of the Va. Code classifies the offense of underage possession (by consumption) as a Class 1 misdemeanor punishable by a fine of at least $500 or performance of community service of approximately 50 hours. A person so convicted is , also, subject to have their driver's license suspended up to one year but may be eligible for a restricted license.
I have never heard of a stet document and have no idea what it refers to.
