Legal Question in Criminal Law in Virginia
Va. Criminal Code Sec. 18.2-258
On November 16, 2006 I was Charged with Maintaining common nuisance. I was sentenced to community service and missed my court date after that. If there is a warrant for failure to appear when does that expire? And If the statue of limitation is up, does this mean i cannot be prosecuted for the charges? Please Help!

There is no statute of limitation that is applicable to this situation. Once the judge has issued the bench warrant for your failure to appear (FTA), this arrest warrant may persist quite literally for years in various law enforcement databases, and a simple traffic stop or license plate check by a law enforcement officer could land you in the local hoosegow shortly thereafter.
